Updated 26 October 2026. Averages for 2019–2025; 2026 up to 26 October 2026.

València has fewer warning days than a typical Spanish zone. But if its bad weather had to fit in one word it would be "autumn", and in one date, the DANA of 29 October 2024.

1 = most warnings

For most of the year, València is a quiet city as far as warnings go. Summer brings its share of heat and storms, but the key moment comes between September and November, when a still-warm Mediterranean feeds torrential rain. Most of the zone's red rain warnings come in that season.

Since the 2024 DANA, orange and red rain warnings have also become more frequent than before, and 2025 was one of the years with the most warning days. We can't tell whether it rains harder or warnings are issued more cautiously.

València has 840,792 inhabitants and sits in the Litoral norte de Valencia warning zone (València/Valencia). Warnings are issued for the whole zone: it shares them with 93 other towns, such as Paterna, Sagunt / Sagunto and Mislata.

València's warning zone and its neighbours

AEMET doesn't warn by city but by zone: València gets the warnings for the Litoral norte de Valencia zone, outlined on the map. The zones around it have their own thresholds and their own warnings.

How this was made

Everything comes from the archive of official AEMET warnings that Climaviso has kept since June 2018: each day counts once, at the highest level the zone had. A warning is a forecast, not damage or a measurement, and it's issued for the whole zone, not your street. We don't cover measured temperatures or rainfall: only when, and why, a warning was issued.
