The calmest places in Spain, by weather warnings
Averages for 2019–2025, from official warnings. Updated 26 October 2026.
Where in Spain do you get the fewest weather scares? We can't tell you where the weather is nicest, but we can tell you where warnings are rarest: how many days a year bring a rain, heat, wind or storm warning in every corner of Spain, and how many of those are serious. Spoiler: the damp north does very well, and so do a few corners of the south.

A word before you pack: each zone has its own thresholds. A yellow heat warning starts at 34 °C in Asturias and at 38 °C in Córdoba, so "few warnings" means few departures from what's normal there, not good weather. The Asturian coast has few warnings and plenty of rain; the Canaries, few warnings and plenty of calima.

How this was made
We count the days with an official AEMET warning in each of Spain's 182 warning zones, from 2019 to 2025: a day counts once, at the highest level the zone had. A warning is a forecast that a threshold will be crossed, not damage or a measurement. And since each zone has its own thresholds, this ranking measures how often each place was warned, not which climate is the most pleasant.
