Does it rain during Las Fallas?
Fallas in València, from 15 to 19 March, from the plantà to the cremà. Warnings 2019–2026; updated 27 October 2026.
Las Fallas fall in March, a month in between for València: wind, the odd spring shower and, now and then, a warning that makes everyone check the forecast before the cremà. This is what the official warnings say about every year since 2019.

The short answer
In 5 of the 8 years since 2019 there was some warning in València's zone during Las Fallas. For rain or storms, in 2; at orange or red, in 0. The most common reason was rain.
This is not a forecast: it counts how often AEMET warned on those dates in recent years. A warning is a forecast that a threshold will be crossed in the zone, not damage or the rain that fell.
Fallas in València and the weather
Fallas fill València with events from early March, with the mascletà every day in the town hall square, but the big days run from 15 to 19 March: the plantà of the monuments, the Flower Offering to the Virgin and, on the night of the 19th, the cremà, when they burn. We count those five days here.
The weather matters most in two ways: rain, which spoils the monuments and soaks the Offering, and wind, which can force changes to the fireworks and complicates the cremà. Below is every edition since 2019, day by day.
Day by day, year by year
Days of March
Each row is a year and each square a day: the colour is that day's highest warning in the zone. The small squares are the 3 days before and after the festival. Hover or tap a square for the date and the reason.
The festival against the weeks around it
During the festival there was a warning on 20% of days; in the three weeks before and after, on 10%. The festival's dates tend to get more warnings than the weeks around them.
Share of days with some warning in the zone, adding up every year since 2019; the colour is each day's highest level.
Which kinds of warning
Years with at least one warning of that kind during the festival; a year can have several.
The most serious days
Since 2019, the festival's dates have had no orange or red warning: the highest level was yellow.

Warnings are for the Litoral norte de Valencia zone, which includes València: a warning covers the whole zone, not one street or route.
In 2020 and 2021, because of the pandemic, many festivals were cancelled or moved. Here we count warnings on their usual dates.

What each colour means for an outdoor festival
- YellowWeather that isn't unusual but can affect particular activities, such as an outdoor event or a procession. Keep an eye on updates and on what the organisers say.
- OrangeSignificant risk: unusual weather that can cause damage. This is when organisers may change times or routes, or call events off.
- RedExtraordinary risk: very intense weather. Follow the instructions of Civil Protection and the city council.
If you're going to Fallas in València
- Check wind warnings on the eve of the cremà: in strong wind, firefighters and organisers can change times or measures.
- For the Offering, a raincoat beats an umbrella in the crowd.
- The mascletà is at two in the afternoon: arrive early and, with children, bring earplugs.
- Check AEMET's forecast in the days before and your zone's warnings on the Climaviso map.
