Your town or mine?
Pick two towns in Spain and we'll tell you which gets fewer severe-weather warnings: heat, rain, storms, wind, cold and fog, round by round. From the official warnings of the last 7 full years.
Need an idea? Try Vigo or Barcelona, Bilbao or Sevilla or Madrid or Málaga.
How it's decided
The town with fewer warning days a year wins: a day counts once, whether yellow, orange or red. Then, round by round, each type of warning.
AEMET doesn't warn by town but by warning zone: each town gets its zone's warnings. If both are in the same zone, they tie on everything.
Each zone has its own thresholds: the heat warning starts at 34 °C on the Cantabrian coast and at 38 °C in Córdoba. A warning marks what is exceptional for that place, not damage. Fewer warnings doesn't mean safer.
